History
It is a waterfall originating from Klong Tha Dan. Huahin Waterfall and well-known as one of the high and beautiful waterfalls in Khao Yai National Park. Originally, before the construction of the Prachin Buri - Khao Yai Road, it took no less than 6 hours to reach the waterfall by walking, but after the Prachin Buri - Khao Yai Road was completed, the parking space was built just a kilometer away from the waterfall. On the way to the waterfall, you can enjoy the beautiful nature on both sides. At the waterfall, there is a 50-meter long stairway which is quite narrow and steep. However, when you reach the viewpoint, you will see the grandeur and beauty of the waterfall. If you visit the place in a rainy season, there is plenty of water splashing and hitting sunlight, contributing a stunning scenery of rainbow. During a drought season, it may be disappointing because you will see only dry cliffs without streams. Along the way to the waterfall, you will see curve stones built to prevent elephants from falling down the waterfall. Since 1987, one or two elephants have fallen to the cliffs below each year. The in the biggest loss occurred in 1992 when a herd of 8 elephants was felt into the waterfall and died. Then, the National Park created this protection line to prevent forest elephants from such incident.
